"For the strength of the pack is the wolf,
and the strength of the wolf is the pack."

Rudyard Kipling

This program is designed to be integrated as part of an overall plan to prepare Marine option midshipmen for OCS training. It is NOT an all encompassing, "written in stone" program that should be followed blindly. The spirit and intent of this program is three fold

·   To standardize the basic knowledge that a future Marine officer should know prior to going to OCS

·  To provide a gradual and progressive time schedule for the acquisition of the knowledge

·  To provide reasonable goals within a midshipman’s capability to reach.

Candidates who are headed for OCS, though not assigned to a NROTC unit, can use this as an outline to work with your Officer Selection Officer to better prepare yourself for the challenges of OCS.
